MACGOWAN FILMS is an independent Australian production company that develops, finances and produces feature films, television and documentaries. Established by Marian Macgowan the company has produced or executive produced amongst other feature films LILIAN’S STORY, TWO HANDS, RAGE IN PLACID LAKE and SOUTH SOLITARY as well as the documentaries BOXING FOR PALM ISLAND and the Gillian Armstrong directed WOMEN HE’S UNDRESSED. They developed and executive produced the Hulu/MRC series The Great starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult for three seasons across 2020-2023.

The company also initiated, and published the film directory, THE PRODUCTION BOOK which it subsequently sold. 

MACGOWAN FILMS is currently developing a range of individual feature films, as well as pursuing television projects including MOSQUITO for Disney +, alongside other local and international projects.
